I’m a Punk Rocker who Loves Wine

I was born in the year when Michael Jackson released Thriller, which sold more than 25 million copies, becoming the biggest-selling album in history. In the year when John Belushi died of a drug overdose at age 33. In the year when Cats opened on Broadway. This was also a year of great vintages in Bordeaux, Champagne, Barolo, and Rioja…

Sadly my favourite German Riesling didn not perform so well.

Can you guess which vintage I am?

What is my background?

I used to watch my Grandma when she cooked. Unfortunately she passed away when I was 9 but the memory of her cuisine encouraged me to choose a culinary school when I turned 15.

That’s how my culinary journey started. I finished 4 years of school, then another 2 in the Hotel Industry. Meanwhile, I passed my Bartender exams and I started to work behind the bar, where I learned Mixology and Customer Service.

I came to Ireland a while ago and I worked as a Bartender in Galway Hotels like The Glenlo Abbey and The House Hotel.

I fell in Love with wine there. I dug further into my new passion here in Dublin, and I passed ‘With Merit’ the Wine and Spirit Education Trust level 3 certificate.

In 2019 I enjoyed running a Wine Pop-Up Bistro in Dublin 8 called The Blue Anchor where I held many successful wine tastings and wine dinners.

What I can offer to you?

If you are bored of standard wine tastings, and you are not afraid of my Punk-Rock soul, then I believe I can make you smile.

We can run one-on-one wine classes or do tastings for you and your friends, family or workmates.

You can be sure that I will find an unconventional topic for your tasting. Don’t worry if you have only beginner’s wine knowledge, all you need is curiosity!

I can search for more unusual wines like vintage Rieslings, Amphora-Fermented Georgian wine, or Polish Wines for more advanced wine aficionados. The world of wine is huge and well worth exploring.
